This workshop, with one of our favourite Senior yoga teachers and dear friend from New Zealand, Debi Hendra, is about building your confidence for holding freestanding handstands. Using proven drills to help mould your strength, flexibility, balance and alignment for handstands this 2 hours session will take you on a fun and challenging journey with a true expert!
Debi Hendra started yoga in London in 1996, teaching in 2004 after studying in India for 6 months. She continued training with World Renowned Ashtangi John Scott, and set up a studio in 2009. Thirteen years on she now manages a thriving yoga community studio in Taupo, New Zealand, teaching students from school age to pregnant new mums, mature students with replacement knees to experienced Ashtangis. From anatomy and injury recovery to tips and tricks to help open tight hips and shoulders.
Mother of two, she developed Ashtanga Yoga for Pregnancy with her second child, and a successful Online Yoga Studio during 2020, Love Yoga New Zealand. Debi also runs her own teacheroldtraining, workshops and loves sharing at festivals, including Wanderlust.
Debi started handstands as a young gymnast in London. Now she loves to share the joy of standing on your hands with others. She and Irina, our founder and main teacher, has studied yoga together in New Zealand more than 13 years ago and we are so excited to host Debi at Iriness this June!
